Organizations#
The Organizations screen lists every organization the portal knows: the institutions, funders, facilities and companies that people on the portal belong to or that records credit. It is the place to find an organization’s page.
You reach it by opening Community in the navigation menu and choosing Organizations, or by selecting Organizations in the Community section of the Home screen. Anyone can open it, signed in or not.
The toolbar#
Along the top of the list are:
the heading Organizations, with a count such as
8 organizationsa search box headed Name, with a Search button
a Country text box
a Filters button
Below the toolbar, each search or filter you have applied shows as a button. Selecting one removes it. When you have applied more than one, Clear all removes them together. Once a search or filter is applied, the count reads n results or No results.
The filters panel#
The Filters button opens a panel beside the list with one text box, City. The panel has an Apply button, and a Clear button once a filter in it is set.
The cards#
Each organization is a card. Cards are laid out two across on a medium screen and three across on a wide one. A card shows:
the organization’s logo, or its initials when it has no logo
its name, linked to its page, followed by a ROR icon when it has a ROR identifier
a badge for its type, such as Education or Funder, when it has one
its city and country, when it has them
a badge with its number of members, such as
3 membersa badge for each kind of record it is credited on, with a count
the line No members or credits yet when it has neither
The list shows 25 organizations to a page. When there are more, the foot of the screen shows Showing a range of the total, with page numbers. On a narrow screen it shows two buttons and the page count instead.
When it is empty#
A portal with no organizations shows an icon and the heading There’s nothing here yet. The screen has no button for adding an organization.
When a search or filter matches nothing, the heading reads No organizations match, with the line Try other words or fewer filters. and a Clear all button.
