The Sign in screen is where you prove who you are, so the portal can show you your private records and let you edit the ones you may.

You reach it by selecting Sign in on the Home screen, or by selecting Sign in on the Sign up screen. A screen that needs you to be signed in sends you here and brings you back to it afterwards. The address is account-center/login/. When no screen sent you here, you arrive on the Home screen after you sign in, headed My Dashboard.

On a wide screen the page is split in two. One half holds the form. The other half names the portal, with the line Research data portal above its name, then its description and Run by followed by the organization that runs it. You do not need this half to sign in. On a narrow screen only the form shows.

The form#

A card headed Sign in, with the portal’s logo above the heading. It holds:

  • Email, where you type the address of your account

  • Password, with the link Forgot your password? under it

  • Remember Me, a checkbox

  • the Sign In button

When the email address and password do not match, the screen says that the email address and/or password you specified are not correct.

The ORCID button#

Below the form, after a line reading or, is an ORCID button. Selecting it opens a page headed Sign In Via ORCID, where you select Continue to go to ORCID and sign in with your ORCID iD.

If a profile with your ORCID iD already exists and nobody has claimed it, signing in this way also claims it. See How to claim your profile with ORCID.

When you are already signed in#

A signed-in user who opens the address is sent on to the home screen instead of seeing the form.
