How to edit an organization’s profile#
This guide changes what an organization’s public page says: its name, logo, type, place, description and web addresses. The people who keep the organization’s record do it from the portal, without asking an administrator.
Before you start#
You must be signed in, and be one of these:
the organization’s owner or one of its administrators, with an affiliation that has not ended
a Community Manager
An ordinary member and a person with no affiliation cannot open the editing screen. Only the organization’s owner and administrators see its checklist.
Steps#
Open the organization from the Organizations screen, by selecting its name.
Open the Manage menu in the header and choose Edit details. A Community Manager who does not keep the organization selects the Edit details button instead.
Change the fields you want to change. The Edit organization screen lists them all.
To put the organization under another, search for it in Part of. To make it part of nothing, clear the box.
To add web addresses, type the organization’s own in Website and any others one on each line of Other links. Each begins
http://orhttps://.Select Save.
The result#
You return to the organization’s page with the message Your changes were saved. A changed name or logo shows wherever the organization is named, on the records it owns and on the profiles of its members. The Organization record checklist counts the items that are in place. See Organization.
If a field cannot be saved, nothing is saved. The field says what is wrong, and everything else you typed stays in the form. Correct the field and select Save again. Select Cancel to leave without changing anything.
